Sandy, so sorry about Mike. We were at Roger and Kathy s a few weeks ago when he came in. Said hi to both Tommy and I, said something to one of the guys and left. Will miss him at Anderson Lake as he would stop and see Terry and collect some cans, visit and go on. Stopping in Eddie’s garage for a visit. Mike was a good guy, cheerful and friendly. Our sincere condolences. Tommy and Pam Trone, Astoria,il.

My condolences and prayers to Sandy, Kyle, Missy and the entire family. I cannot tell you how saddened I am hearing about Mike’s passing. I’ve known Mike my whole life and he was truly like a big brother to me growing up. He gave me many great memories and experiences that I have never forgotten. Such as my first experience going over 100 mph in his blue Stingray, teaching me to shoot a rifle, and figuring out that I was left eye dominant and needed to shoot left handed, as well as showing me how to get my check cashed on Friday at Billys after getting off of work after 3rd shift at IH (I wasn’t 21 yet). RIP Mike, you truly were one of the good guys and like a second brother.

    To the family:

    Loss of Loved One Poem

    Now that I am gone,
remember me with smiles and laughter.
And if you need to cry,
cry with your brother or sister
who walks in grief beside you.
    And when you need me,
    put your arms around anyone
and give to them what you need to give to me.
There are so many who need so much.
I want to leave you something —
something much better than words or sounds.
Look for me in the people I’ve known
or helped in some special way.
Let me live in your heart
as well as in your mind.
    You can love me most
by letting your love reach out to our loved ones,
by embracing them and living in their love.
Love does not die, people do.
So, when all that’s left of me is love,
give me away as best you can.

I am so sad. To Sandy, Kyle, Missy, John, Connie and family. I have know Mike my entire life, he was like a big brother growing up. Oh he was a stinker growing up. He dropped a snake down the back of my blouse when we were about 9 or 10. Married a very good friend of mine and we had a lot of good times going dancing. One hell of a football player. Oh my all the wonderful memories especially his laugh. I loved him dearly and will miss him greatly. Love to all.

Mike was an onrey little fart with a mischievous grin and laugh, must have gotten it from his dad. I have wondered where he has been as I always look for him when turning down Thompson Court on my way home to wave at him or to stop and bullshit – both of us are really good at that. God must have needed him to lift moral in the after life. He sure did his share here. He is in a better place and we were blessed that his life crossed ours. Prayers for you and your family Mike.

Although I hadn’t seen Mike (or John, for that matter) in several years, I have such good memories of the “Burgard Boys” and of drinking beer and telling tall tales with them and Steve Fleming in Liverpool. My deepest sympathy to all of Mike’s family and friends. He was loved and he will be missed.

I never had the opportunity to see Mike after our Highschool graduation, so many years ago, but I’ll always remember him as a tremendous athlete who was an extremely important running back on the undefeated Little Giant football team of 1963. He was a great guy to be around. He could (and did) keep the whole team bus entertained, with his antics, as we traveled to our “away” games. I will always remember him fondly. My prayers are for him and his family. RIP, MIKE !

Mike was a great guy and a lot of fun he was catching a high school baseball and threw the ball to second and. It hit the umpire in the back of the head and knocked him out mike was a hell of a day halfback on the undefeated team if not the best player on the team miss you buddy
