Patricia E. Small

Bartonville – Patricia E. Small, 66, of Bartonville, passed away Saturday morning October 6, 2018 at her residence. She was born on November 12, 1951 in Peoria to John and Betty (Zachman) Ferrare. She married John “Jack” Small on November 25, 1972 in Peoria. He survives.

Also surviving is her mother, Betty Ferrare of Bartonville; two sons, Matthew Alan (Nichole) Small of Rock Falls, IL and Douglas Anthony (Sara) Small of Ann Arbor, MI; one grandson, Grady Matthew Small; one sister, Cindy (Rick) Churan of Sun Prairie, WI; sister-in-law, Deborah Ferrare; several nieces and nephews; and many cousins.

Patricia was preceded in death by her father and one brother, John Lawrence Ferrare.

Patty was a 1969 graduate of Limestone Community High School and graduated in 1972 from OSF St. Francis College of Nursing. She later completed her Bachelor’s Degree from OSF Saint Francis College. She was a nursing care manager in rehabilitation at OSF St. Francis Medical Center, retiring as a registered nurse in 2006 after 34 years of service. Patricia was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church in Bartonville, IL. She loved her children, reading, word games, puzzles and traveling. Patricia was a survivor of breast cancer for 18 years.

A visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 PM on Wednesday, October 10, 2018 at Endsley-Sedgwick Funeral Home in Bartonville. Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 AM on Thursday, October 11, 2018 at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Bartonville, where a visitation will be held from 10:00-10:30 AM. Father David Heinz will officiate. Burial will follow the services at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery in West Peoria, IL.  Memorials can be made to St. Anthony Catholic Church, American Cancer Society, or the American Heart Association.     This was a beautiful tribute. Patty was the smartest girl I knew all through school. She was so friendly and a kind person. R.i.p. Patty!

    I was so sad to ,read about Patty’s passing. She was one of my best friends way back at Bartonville Grade School and at Limestone. She was a sweet and kind girl. Believe it or not, I still think about her from time to time. You have my sincere condolences.
