Theda “Shorty” Toebbe

Bartonville – Theda “Shorty” Toebbe, 78, of Bartonville, passed away at 5:30 PM on Wednesday, March 4, 2020 at her residence. She was born on March 24, 1941 in Peoria to Henry Edward and Theda Violet (Hayse) Bradshaw. She married Ronald J. Toebbe on July 23, 1960 in Peoria, he preceded her in death on December 25, 2013.

Also preceding her in death were her parents, one son, Kenneth Toebbe, three brothers, and three sisters.

Surviving are two sons, Ronald Toebbe Jr. of Quincy and LeRoy James Toebbe of Peoria; two daughters, Rhonda Lynn (Tom) Maushard of Peoria and Theda “Kathy” Reynolds of Peoria; six grandchildren, one who she helped raise, Cindy Toebbe; and six great-grandchildren.

Shorty worked as a school bus driver for 27 years for Pleasant Hill School. She was a member Elvista the Baptist Church in Peoria and was an avid Chicago Cubs fan.

Services will be held at 11 AM on Monday, March 9, 2020 at Endsley-Sedgwick Funeral Home in Bartonville, IL where a visitation will be held an hour prior. Rev. Kevin VanTine will officiate. Burial will follow at Lutheran Cemetery in Peoria, IL. Memorials can be made to the Peoria Cancer Center.     Shorty was the most dedicated bus driver I have ever met. She was my bus driver all through my time at Pleasant Hill and I still have fond memories two decades later! She made so much long lasting impact on young lives. The world is short an angel now, but heaven gained a great one! Condolences!
